Users of the A32 will have to find an alternative route for the next fortnight.

Hampshire County Council is closing the A32 Gosport Road in Filmore Hill for resurfacing work from 8pm on September 27 until October 11.

The section affected will be between the junction with Three Horseshoes Lane - north of the Meon Hut lay-bys - and the junction with Fawley Lane.

A council spokesperson said: “This is essential maintenance work, and it will require this section of road to be temporarily closed to enable road strengthening and resurfacing activities to take place.

“To confirm, the 24-hour closure is being implemented to allow carriageway edge strengthening to take place - this element of work needs time to cure.”

Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

Elements of this work are weather dependent so the programme may be subject to change at short notice.
