Organisers of a major festival between Alresford and Winchester have expressed their sympathy to the family of a reveller following his death.
Boomtown organisers are supporting the police with their enquiries after a man in his 20s suffered a medical incident at their event last Saturday, August 10.
An ambulance was called between 8pm and 9pm but the man died early the next day after being taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
“The man’s next of kin have been notified of this unexpected death and police will be preparing a file for the coroner,” said a police spokesperson.
A Boomtown spokesperson conveyed their condolences saying: “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all those who knew him.”
The annual festival passed peacefully with around 60,000 people taking part in the event at the Matterley Bowl site between the A31 and A272.
Headliners included Sherelle, DJ EZ, Marc Rebillet and Ross from Friends.
