A new era has begun in Jane Austen’s village as a “visionary” headteacher has been appointed.
Zoe Doyle needed no persuasion to move to East Hampshire after being offered the top job at Chawton CE Primary School.
Governors were impressed with her wealth of experience and proven track record in academic excellence and student wellbeing.
Her admirers include OfSted as the former Fawley Infant School principal was singled out for praise following an inspection in March 2023.
Zoe’s “dynamic approach” and her “passion for fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment” made her the perfect fit for the oversubscribed village school.
Sarah Addison, chair of governors at Chawton CE Primary, welcomed the headteacher with the school excited to begin a new chapter under Mrs Doyle’s leadership.
She said: “We are thrilled to welcome Zoe Doyle to our school community.
“Her commitment to educational excellence and her visionary leadership style will undoubtedly inspire our students and develop the staff.
She added: “We are confident that under her guidance, our school will continue to thrive and uphold its values of love, courage and fellowship.”
Mrs. Doyle expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating: “I am honored to join Chawton CE Primary School.
“I look forward to working collaboratively with the dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, most importantly, the wonderful students.
“Together, we will build on the school’s strong foundation that staff worked so hard to put in place and strive for continuous improvement, ensuring every child reaches their full potential.”
