Pupils and staff at Amery Hill School in Alton played their full part in remembering the fallen.

They joined the public Remembrance Service in the town and also had acts of remembrance in school.

On November 11 a spokesperson said: “Our whole school fell silent today in an act of Remembrance and to pay our respects.

“Students who are part of a uniformed service were invited to wear their uniform to school for the day.

“Yesterday our head prefects and Mr Jeckells joined with our friends from Eggar's School and the wider local community for the Service of Remembrance at the Cairn in the heart of Alton.

“A number of other staff and students from Amery Hill were involved in the service and parade, including Mr Gibbs, who sounded the Last Post and Reveille.

“It was an event of great significance which very much underlined the togetherness of the people of Alton. We will remember them.”
