Alton Town Council has published a briefing document entitled Kings Pond - The Next Steps in Deciding the Way Forward.

It sets out two options to address the issues around Kings Pond and discusses these possible solutions - the ‘Dredging’ and the ‘Pond and River’ options.

Don Hammond, the Alton town councillor for Holybourne, said: “The King's Pond project is the most significant thing that the council will undertake in a generation, in terms of public opinion, cost, potential environmental benefit and impact as well as benefits to current and future generations of residents.”

Three public briefing and discussion sessions will give people a chance to hear the rationale behind the options and express their views.

They are at the Royal British Legion on November 19 from 2pm to 4pm, the Assembly Rooms on November 26 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and Alton Social Bowls Club on December 3 from 2pm to 4pm.
