Rowledge beat Ventnor by three wickets in Division One of the Southern Premier Cricket League on Saturday.
Ventnor openers Ben Woodhouse and Dineth Thimodya fell cheaply, and the introduction of the pace of Will Ryman (five for 32) saw two more wickets fall as the visitors slipped to 47 for four.
Daniel Cox scored 51, but he saw partners come and go regularly. Cox was dismissed by Max Martin (three for 44) and the Islanders were bowled out for 175.
Rowledge’s reply got off to a shaky start, with Justin Felsch and Ollie Baker both falling early on to the pace of George Watts.
Zac Le Roux joined Max Martin at the crease and consolidated the innings with some patient batting. The pair put on 77 for third wicket before Le Roux fell for 40.
Martin continued to hold the innings together, but Ventnor fought back and took two wickets in two balls to leave Rowledge with plenty to do at 113 for five.
Ryan Littlewood steadied the ship with Martin, but when Littlewood was caught on the boundary the hosts still needed 39 runs with seven overs left.
Martin fell to Watts for a patient 57 with ten still needed, but Ryman (22 not out) and Ed Reilly (three not out) knocked off the remaining runs to see Rowledge home.
Rowledge’s second team beat Purbrook by seven wickets. Ollie Hinchliffe (three for 13), Henry Hnichliffe (two for 41) and Hamish Watson (two for 18) were in the wickets as Rowledge bowled Purbrook out for 145. Ben Davidson (51 not out) and Bertie Chilscott (49 not out) saw the visitors home in the 24th over.
Rowledge’s third team beat Longparish’s second team by 42 runs. Rowledge scored 264 for nine and restricted Longparish to 222 for nine.
