A variety of events will take place at the Assembly Rooms this Friday (July 5) to mark ten years since Alton became the first dementia-friendly community in East Hampshire.
Visitors can learn more from staff and volunteers about the services Dementia Friendly Alton provide during a “cuppa and chat” from 10am before Kim Garner and the Memory Choir lead some singing.
A friendship lunch and networking event at 12.30pm will be followed by new age kurling and boules in the Lower Room.
There will also be awareness activities as a dementia simulation bus will park outside, with morning and afternoon sessions.
The group will also showcase their creativity during the Arts in the Park event in the Public Gardens on Saturday with a tenth birthday tea party taking place at the Assembly Rooms from 2pm.
A further arts and craft display will take place in the Assembly Rooms the following week until Wednesday.
