Frankie may have said relax, but the fight against dementia is alive and kicking thanks to an 80s-themed morning of body combat classes at Alton Sports Centre.
Fundraisers have been punching the air in delight as a “combatathon” raised more than £4,000 for Dementia UK.
People who took part in the back-to-back sessions were encouraged to dress in bright 80s or neon attire with more than 420 taking part.
The high-energy, non-contact martial arts-inspired classes were led by four instructors based at the centre and each featured its own different music.
Seasoned combateers to first-timers took part with sessions being tailored to suit a range of fitness levels.
And despite the intensity the results were terrific, as the centre has now raised close to £4,500 to date for Dementia UK thanks to the combatathon and previous events.
The event included a raffle and photo opportunities with stormtroopers and other Star Wars characters.
