Members of the Community Club for the Elderly at Alton Community Centre were hard at work recently making poppies for its Remembrance Day window display.

This craft activity prompted members to share some wonderful and heartfelt memories.

The display was a shared activity between the club and the children of Busy Bees Nursery at the Church of St Lawrence, who were learning about Remembrance Day while making and decorating poppies for the display.

The Community Club for the Elderly meets every Tuesday at Alton Community Centre and provides a day of care, activities and companionship as well as a vital day of respite for those caring for someone in their home. It also includes a hot meal, and transport for those who live in Alton.
