The sun made its presence known on August Bank holiday weekend for the Petersfield Summer Festival.
Opening night was dedicated to music featuring live performances from Brit Pop Revolution, South England’s ultimate Brit Pop tribute band. Following with headliner Key Lime Pi, a nine piece Ska/Funk/dance band based in Hampshire.
There was plenty of entertainment for children with a superhero and pirates day with prizes for best costumes (including adults) and the opportunity to meet Wolverine and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Mayor Cllr JC Crissey said: “Another great Petersfield Summer Festival. Fantastic music, food and community are plenty to be had. Well done Petersfield Festivals!”
Monday was set in a galaxy far, far away as members from the 501st Legion UK Garrison, Rebel Legion and Mandalorian Mercs marched through the streets. Star Wars fans came out in force for the event as their favourite characters and had their Lightsabers at the ready when faced with Darth Vader.
The ‘Force Festival’ as it was called was for a good cause, raising funds for Round Table Children's Wish. A charity that makes handcrafted wishes for children and young people with life threatening illnesses across Britain and Ireland.
Local clubs such as Petersfield Young Farmers and The Petersfield & District Angling Club were out to spread the word about what they do and hook some new members and the popular Fire engine was back for little explorers eager to take a look inside.
What a swashbuckling way to mark the end of the summer season!
