A teacher at a Holybourne school has received a prestigious award for her “outstanding contribution” to teaching in the county.

Jenny Hudd is definitely a class act as the Andrew’s Endowed CE Primary School teacher has received the Teaching and Learning Award.

This accolade is part of the Hampshire Education Awards, which celebrate the outstanding contributions of education professionals across the county. 

Jenny has been recognised for her exceptional ability to create meaningful connections as her “innovative and bespoke learning strategies” have enabled children to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

She spoke of her “great honour” after receiving the award during the showpiece event in Winchester, adding: “It was a very special evening in the spectacular Great Hall, celebrating all those who work in education.”

Jenny was praised as a cornerstone of the Andrews’ Endowed community through her unwavering support to colleagues and contribution to the school family’s overall success.

Headteacher Gemma Gundry expressed great pride in Jenny’s achievements highlighting the recognition as a testament to her hard work and dedication, calling her teaching method “innovative but deeply compassionate”.

Jenny’s teaching philosophy emphasises understanding children as individuals and encouraging them to know their strengths, values, and voices. 

Her manta of “I am my own person” resonates in her teaching, empowering students to think critically, set goals and development essential like skills. 

Jenny’s teaching environment of empathy and safety have allowed pupils free to explore and express themselves highlighting herself the vital role educators plays in shaping young minds.
