A man who has been showing walkers the way has completed his Last Post on a hillside near Alton.
The Alton Ramblers are looking to expand its team of volunteers so they can keep local footpaths fit for use.
They need more people like John Jones – as the rambler pictured here recently erected his final footpath way marker in Bentworth after years of service to the group and the area’s public rights of way.
The job he completed is one of the many activities undertaken by the group’s Footpath Maintenance Team.
People who are good with their hands are especially welcome to join as other tasks typically include footpath clearance, way marking, furniture repair and building.
If you would like to be like John and put your best foot forward for Alton’s walking contingent, contact Paul Naish, Alton Ramblers footpath maintenance officer via their website at www.altonramblers.co.uk
