A breakdown of developer funding shows that healthy sums will be spent on extending medical facilities in the Alton area.
East Hampshire District Council has confirmed the 17 schemes that will receive a share of £1.5million given to the authority by developers for infrastructure projects.
The schemes range from improvements to schools and village halls to better sports and recreation facilities.
The biggest handout is the £234,474 for extension work at Watercress Medical while sums of nearly £190,000 and £100,000 will be spent on extending Alton Dental and Selborne Primary School, respectively.
Some £85,000 will go to the Hampshire Cultural Trust to aid its development of the Allen Gallery and Garden and £80,000 will boost a cabin refurbishment at the 8th Alton Scout Group.
Sums between £9,000 and £75,000 will also go the likes of Holybourne Cricket Club, Bentley Archers Cricket and Sports Club and Alton Tennis Club.
The Treloar’s Trust has also been given £10,000 for an electric minibus while £66,780 will be spent on increasing Early Years childcare capacity at Wootey Infant School.
Cllr Angela Glass, EHDC portfolio holder for regulation & enforcement, said: “New homes built in East Hampshire outside the national park provide money that can be put towards improving the local infrastructure.
“This year we have allocated money to schemes that will have a really positive impact on the lives of our residents and will help offset the impact that development has on our communities.”
