The sound of the Prairies is coming to Petersfield as an award-winning Canadian singer is ready to give a school audience a lesson in country.
Jake Vaadeland & The Sturgeon River Boys will bring their beautiful sound to Studio@TPS at 7.30pm this Saturday, September 7.
The self-taught multi-instrumentalist is nearing the end of an extensive tour having captivated audiences in the USA, Europe and here in the UK.
His music should hits all the right notes with a sweet combination of bluegrass and 50s rockability. Expect a lively and high-energy performance with plenty of foot-stomping tunes and lyrics that audiences can relate to.
He’s definitely not trading on past glories as his recent album Retro Man…More and More was a huge hit in his homeland at the 2024 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. He walked off with four awards including Male Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Video of the Year and Interactive Artist of the Year at the showpiece.
His recent collaboration with Canadian country artist Tebey cannot be forgotten with the recent release of their single Wake Me Up (the Bluegrass Rendition) becoming a firm favourite on the scene.
Audiences clearly have lots of excitement to look forward with Next magazine lauding his “gorgeous singing, stellar band and committed showmanship that turn any performance into a full-on show”.
Tickets, priced £15 for adults, are available from One Tree Books, Lavant Street, Petersfield, or at www.thestudiotps.com
If you prefer something even rockier, then one of the UK’s top ACDC tribute acts are returning to TPS later this autumn as Thunderstruck will perform at the same venue on November 15.
