Residents and staff at Farnham’s Leonard Cheshire Home, Bells Piece – plus sister house at Firgrove Hill – have had a wonderful time at the circus.
It was a fitting ‘in memory’ treat that resulted from a rush of donations following news in January of the death of popular long-term resident Neil Yeadon.
The family wanted residents and their families, the staff plus a few other friends to share a special occasion, while remembering Neil.
Zippo’s Circus, appearing at Guildford, provided just the opportunity, and Mike Yeadon’s daughter Sue organised the coach and bought the tickets, while Bells Piece manager Marilyn Walker arranged a supper for everyone on their return to Farnham.
They were warmly thanked by Mike who, together with and his family, had wanted an event that would be a suitable tribute – and everyone responded warmly as Sue followed her father’s short speech with “a toast to Neil”.
