PROFESSIONAL Alton artist Tim Burns will open up his studio for three days next month.
The studio, at 12 Bow Street, will be open from 10.30am to 5.30pm from December 4-6.
Since taking early retirement from teaching in 2013, Tim has been working mostly on marine landscape and related still-life subjects, often bringing both elements together in one painting.
He said: “My work reflects the world around me, whether it be the places I visit, the contents of my fruit bowl, my ceramics collection, or bits and pieces from the beach or garden. Each painting reflects an aspect of my world and many of them have their own story to tell.
“Whatever the subject of my work, be it on canvas, paper or driftwood, each painting is another step on a journey. The subjects are traditional but I am picking my own path and the paintings document the course that I travel, literally and creatively.”
Tim lives in Alton where he welcomes guests to his studio but spends a lot of time in Cornwall and may settle there eventually.
He has decided to stage a pre-Christmas open studio this year, offering paintings from £50 to £600, plus a substantial reduction on old stock.
There will also be a small selection of cards available. Visitors are welcome with no obligation to buy.
