THREE new captains have taken the traditional walk through the guard of honour at Farnham Golf Club.
Peter Dudley-Hammatt is the new men’s captain, Cheryl Brewer has taken on the role for the ladies, and rising star Lottie Woad will head the junior section.
Former British Airways workr Dudley-Hammatt has been a member at Farnham – also referred to as The Sands – for ten years having moved to Ewshot in 2009.
He said he was “looking forward to serving the membership” during his year as captain.
Brewer, an active trustee and governor at Treloar in Holybourne, has been playing golf for seven years and said she “enjoys the camaraderie” of all the members at the golf club.
Woad, 15, has been a club member since she was seven and has already represented Farnham, Surrey and England.
She said she was “proud” to become junior captain and looking forward to leading the junior teams in the various competitions and leagues.
The new trio’s chosen charity is Dreamflight, which changes young lives by taking children with a serious illness or disability, without their parents, on the holiday-of-a-lifetime to Florida.
