Badshot Lea slipped to a 4-1 defeat against Southern League Premier South outfit Basingstoke Town in a pre-season friendly at Westfield Lane.
The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute when Dan Warre took a touch before emphatically rifling his shot into the roof of the net.
Basingstoke doubled their advantage on 40 minutes when Warre scored his second of the evening. Paul Hodges’ through ball picked out Warre, who went past the Baggies keeper before calmly firing his finish into the empty net.
The visitors went 3-0 up in the 50th minute when Nnamdi Nwachuku got across his man at the near post and flicked his header home into the bottom corner.
The Baggies pulled a goal back on 63 minutes when a superb free kick by a trialist picked out the bottom left-hand corner.
Basingstoke scored their fourth in the 73rd minute when Nwachuku stood a cross up for the unmarked Stefan Brown to head home from close range.
Next up for the Baggies is a pre-season friendly at home to Southern League Premier South outfit Gosport Borough on Saturday, July 13 (3pm).
