Alton’s second team won by six wickets at Old Basing in Division One of the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturday.
Wilf Bridger (four for 26) and Arul Appavoo (one for eight) reduced Old Basing to 18 for four with some skilful new ball bowling.
The rest of the bowling chipped away at the Old Basing line up, limiting them to 131 all out.
Old Basing picked up two early wickets to leave Alton dangerously poised at 17 for two.
However, Howard Gadsby (29) and Michael Heffernan (66 not out) put together a crucial 50-run partnership to put Alton back in control.
Although Gadsby fell, Heffernan took Alton home to a comfortable victory.
Alton’s third team thrashed Rowledge’s third team by 119 runs in Division Four North of the Hampshire Cricket League on Saturday.
Nidish Gonella (22) and Nilanka Kodithuwakku (60) took Alton to 90 for one, but the middle order fell away and Alton finished on 162 all out.
Michael Salmon (four for 23) and Derek Footit (six for 13) tore through the Rowledge batting line-up and bowled the visitors out for 43.
Alton’s fourth team beat Wrecclesham by two wickets in Division Five of the I’Anson Cricket League on Saturday.
Harry Lynn (five for seven) bowled a superb spell for Alton as they bowled the hosts out for 118. Cam Rhodes (26), Oli Lynn (18) and Neil Duncan (16) made vital contributions in the run chase, before Jon Porter and Ethan Orme saw the visitors home.
Alton’s women fell to a 35-run defeat at Hursley Park on Sunday.
The hosts scored 252 for seven off 40 overs. Jorja Wright (33), Abi Green (44), Amelia Marshall (35) and Mel Vaggers (51) impressed with the bat as Alton scored 217 for six in reply.
