PEOPLE from across the Meon Valley have come together to celebrate 15 decades of worship at an East Hampshire church.
A dedication service was held in St Johns Langrish on January 28 to mark the 150th anniversary of the church’s consecration.
Figures past and present took part with newly arrived priest Rev Tony Forrest and retired Canon Rev Terry Louden leading the service.
The family of Nigel – who took the first reading – and Robina Talbot-Ponsonby attended along with Rev Andrew Talbot-Ponsonby and his wife, Jill, who is also a priest.
Worshippers from around the Upper Meon Benefice which includes East Meon, West Meon and Meonstoke attended with refreshments being served afterwards.
While the church faces an uncertain future with closure a real possibility, services will continue for as long as possible. The churchyard is separate and will remain open for all the community.
