There were dramatic scenes in Bordon this afternoon as a bus caught fire on Camp Road.

The Stagecoach service was evacuated after smoke started billowing from the engine around 2pm this afternoon (Thursday, May 9).

The driver and passengers escaped the vehicle safety before it was engulfed by flames and billowing smoke.

No injuries have been reported at the time of writing while firefighters from Bordon fire station were quickly at the scene

A spokesperson for Stagecoach South said: "Smoke was detected from one of vehicles as it travelled through Bordon at around 2pm.

“Passengers exited the vehicle safely and we are not aware of any reported injuries. The fire services were called and attended the vehicle. Safety is our absolute priority.

“We will carry out a thorough investigation into the cause of this incident."
