Queen Elizabeth Country Park was once again the stunning backdrop for the South Downs Show.
Families, friends and their canine companions were out for a weekend of fun and warm weather at the event on August 10 & 11.
Dogs were the stars of the event with several demonstrations featuring Gun dogs, best in show, support dogs, best party trick, obstacle courses and more.
This year even had a dedicated dog zone with something for all dog lovers. Including live talks, canine charities, treats, accessories and art for some pawsome fun!
Battling for the spotlight was the Knights of Nottingham who treated audience-goers to a spectacle of medieval jousting, sword play, hitting the target and funny rivalry antics.
Commentating throughout the day, highlighting stallholders and providing some upbeat music was Petersfield’s Shine Radio. Delighting the children and sending them into laughter was the classic Punch and Judy show with all sorts of hilarious characters.
Youngsters didn’t want to miss out on the ferret racing with the first round kicking off with Rag & Bone Man, Riff Raff, Hughie and The Silver Surfer. There was also the opportunity to name a baby ferret with biscuit being a popular choice.
For those who wanted a bit less action there were plenty of businesses, charities and activities to try. Such as Hampshire Search and Rescue, who had attendees having a go at throwing a line if someone was in trouble in the water and a tour of their rescue operation vehicle.
Not forgetting the variety of food and drinks available with people being spoiled for choice. Farm animals were the perfect opportunity to have some down time and have a pet of a small goat or donkey.
The show certainly went down well and attendees eagerly await its return next year. Check out more video content of the show online across Post and Herald.
