Crowds flocked to the 28th annual Festival of Toy Trains at Perins School in Alresford.
There were nearly 30 layouts – including a Jubilee-themed one, complete with a royal procession and a street party – and more than 80 sales tables.
Visitors came by car, bus and Watercress Line steam train from Alton and many stayed all day, enjoying the layouts in the assembly hall and sports hall plus the barbecue, real ale and live music outside.
Smaller layouts were in the assembly hall, while the sports hall hosted the Bowman Circle with live steam, a circus-themed layout with a host of tinplate accessories, Thomas and Chad Valley layouts by the Mountbatten School, the HRCA Mortimer Group layout, and a Playmobil Wild West layout with scale cars including Marty McFly’s Back to the Future De Lorean.
Show organiser Bob Leggett said: “The Jubilee layout, I believe, had more soldiers than the actual Trooping of the Colour at Buckingham Palace.”
