A Take That tribute band will relight their fire at Farnham’s Christmas lights switch-on in Gostrey Meadow on Saturday, November 18.
There will be free live entertainment starting at 1pm with performances from local schools, theatre groups and local bands – before the headliners promise to rule the world from 5pm to 6pm.
Councillor Kika Mirylees, lead member for community, said: “We have a magical afternoon lined up for the lead up to the big Christmas lights’ switch-on.
"Younger members of the community will be able to enjoy fairground rides, face painting, a live nativity scene and a craft table. Santa Claus will be in his cosy grotto, and he’ll have a free gift for every child who visits.
“For Christmas shoppers, I highly recommend browsing the stalls which we have handpicked specially for the occasion. If you find yourself in need of sustenance, stop by at one of the refreshment stalls for a delicious bite to eat and a warming drink.”
The moment everyone will have been waiting for will arrive at 4.30pm when this year’s special guest will have the honour of flipping the switch and lighting up Farnham for Christmas.
The Principal sponsor for Christmas in Farnham 2023 is Farnham Veterinary Hospital.
The Gold sponsor of the Christmas Lights Switch-On is Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society and the Bronze sponsor is Shaw Gibbs.
