THE PLANE synonymous with Hampshire and one of Britain’s greatest wartime victories will be the subject of a talk in Stroud tomorrow evening (Thursday, February 22).
The Chairman of The Spitfire Makers Charitable Trust will talk to the Friends of Langrish and Ramsdean about the legendary aircraft and its production around Southampton.
Alan Matlock’s talk will include experiences of people who worked at Supermarine factories around the city and how production was dispersed to secret facilities to avoid bombing.
Tickets for the 7.30pm talk at Stroud village hall are £12 to include a preceding finger buffet.
