Extremely strong winds and heavy rain swept through Hampshire in the early hours of Thursday morning, with more wind and rain forecast as the day goes on.

The arrival of Storm Ciarán led to widespread school closures in the southern part of the county, but just one school in East Hampshire closed its gates: Hollywater School in Bordon.

There are widespread reports of flooding on roads throughout the district, however, as well as across the border in west Surrey.
