A spooktacular time was enjoyed by adults and children at Haslemere Educational Museum’s annual celebration of Hallowe’en.

This popular event, jointly organised by Haslemere Museum and Visit Haslemere, brings together local families in a traditional spirit.

Children dressed up in their spookiest costumes and brought along their own pumpkins in all shapes and sizes to carve.

They also tried their hand at creepy crafts.

The museum’s volunteers provided spooky home-made cakes and refreshments in their ‘Witches’ Tea Room’ throughout the afternoon.

As evening fell, Visit Haslemere manager Heather Matthews and town mayor Jacquie Keen led the Hallowe’en parade of mini witches, ghosts, skeletons and werewolves, all carrying their carved pumpkins along the High Street to Charter Walk. After pulling their scariest poses, all children received a treat.

Haslemere Museum education officer Kay Topping said: “We are delighted to host this event at Haslemere Museum.

“It works really well and it is always wonderful to see all the families enjoying themselves and the children really getting involved with the arts and crafts as well as the pumpkin carving.”
