CHILDREN and staff at Binsted Primary School have welcomed their new headteacher.

Sharron Morton took over the reins in January, putting into motion her first headship.

Married to the Reverend Mark Morton, rector for South Harting, and with a grown-up daughter, Mrs Morton taught in Wiltshire and a British forces school in Germany before becoming assistant head and special educational needs co-ordinator for Hampshire Rural Schools.

Mrs Morton said: "All learners will be supported and nurtured to develop a life-long love of learning, respect for themselves and others."
