PUPILS of St Lawrence Primary School in Alton were called to a special assembly on returning to school from the Easter break.

They were there to welcome representatives from Sainsbury's who had come to school to present them with some gardening equipment, as part of a national initiative to encourage more children to participate in gardening activities.

The youngsters were very excited and demonstrated how to use the various gardening tools that were being presented. Headteacher Dawn Casson received the equipment on behalf of the school.
