Clowning around isn’t usually encouraged in class, but supporters of a village school won’t be losing their big top having pulled off a fundraising coup.
Volunteers from St Mary’s Bentworth PTA have been doing acrobatics after persuading The Incredible Happy’s Circus to visit on Saturday, June 8.
“I’m so excited – I can’t believe we’re going to have a real-life big top on our school field,” said seven-year-old pupil, Wilfy.
The outfit will bring all the fun of the circus to the school playing field with food, drink and live music from midday.
The big top will open for the pre-show at 1.30pm, kicking off an afternoon of dazzling acrobatics, hilarious clowns and awe-inspiring performances.
Tickets are £15.50 with no charge for children aged two or under from tinyurl.com/stmaryscircus and all proceeds going to the St Mary’s Bentworth PTA in support of the school and its pupils.
