SELBORNE Primary School entertained a special visitor when a representative of Cancer Research UK popped in to pick up a cheque for almost £3,500, raised by the children over the last school year for their chosen charity.
Activities ranged from a book sale and jelly sale to the proceeds of the Christmas production, and every child, together with many parents, siblings and carers, ran a Race for Life in the school grounds.
It may be a small school (less than 100 pupils) but the children’s hard work and commitment meant they punched above their weight when it came to raising money for Cancer Research UK.
