A night at the opera and a pair of FA Cup semi-final tickets are some of the freebies that Herald-area MPs have enjoyed in recent weeks.

The items are some of the gifts and donations that MPs have declared for early May in the updated Register of Members’ Financial Interests.

Jeremy Hunt received tickets and hospitality worth £418 from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and £1,700 worth of hospitality tickets from London Marathon Events Ltd.

The latter was for family members who cheered the South West Surrey MP to the finish line as he raised £100,000 for Sarcoma UK by running the world-famous event.

Winchester MP Steve Brine was treated to two hospitality tickets worth a total of £1,756 to watch the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City.

The MPs for East Hampshire, Chichester, North East Hampshire and the Meon Valley made no declarations during the fortnight.
