Listeners to a local radio station have turned the tables on the station's turntables.

Petersfield’s Shine Radio listeners joined in with the station’s ‘Have a go at radio’ event at The Festival Hall.

The practical morning was a chance to have a go at newsreading, voice work, audio editing and interviewing, guided by Shine Radio volunteers young and old.

Local singer-songwriter Dash Buckley also performed a set on guitar and keys. The radio broadcasts music from unsigned local artists every week. It has just begun a partnership with The Square Brewery to help introduce more people to live music locally.

The not-for-profit station was established to benefit the local community through radio. It also works with local schools to help develop the listening and speaking skills of pupils.

Shine Radio welcomes new volunteers for roles on-air and behind the scenes. You can find out how to join at https://shineradio.uk.
