Fans of Jane Austen will need little persuasion to attend a themed talk in Blackmoor this weekend.

Janet Johnson will give The Friends of St Matthews Church Blackmoor & Whitehill the chapter and verse on East Hampshire’s most famous daughter during an afternoon tea and talk.

There will also be wardrobe changes as actors in period costume will re-enact various parts from Austen’s much-loved books during the Chawton Years 1809 to 1917 talk.

Janet was a guide at Jane Austen’s House for more than 25 years so expect plenty of insight into the life and times of the world-famous author from 2.30pm this Saturday.

The talk will be held in the garden of Eveley Corner Cottage, off Firgrove Road, Whitehill GU35 9EQ, with Pimms or a soft drink being served on arrival.

There will also be a raffle, for more details about the event contact Jilly Prideaux on 07715 454748.
