An early-2024 opening date has been confirmed for Farnham's new REEL cinema at the heart of the Brightwells Yard development.
The six-screen multiplex will show its first films on February 2, the national cinema chain has confirmed.
The venue will offer cinema-goers state-of-the art laser picture projection and digital audio in all six screens, a licensed bar and the Reel Lounge, a premium viewing experience with plush sofas and armchairs.
It will be the first purpose-built cinema in Farnham since the closure of the Regal in East Street in 1985, 39 years earlier.
Among the first new releases to be screened will be Argyll, a spy action comedy starring Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L Jackson.
Sunil Suri from REEL Cinemas previously said: “We are excited at the prospect of opening the REEL Cinema Farnham at Brightwells Yard.
“With our neighbouring restaurants, extensive garden, public artwork and striking architecture, our latest cinema will be at the heart of the community and a real asset for Farnham town centre.”
Restaurant brand Coppa Club has already signed to occupy Grade II-listed Brightwell House and Crest Nicholson said other restaurants are in “advanced negotiations” with further announcements coming soon.
Nando's has confirmed it is opening a restaurant in Brightwells, and Heaven’s Kitchen has already announced it is relocating its Farnham steakhouse to a unit next to the cinema.
