Residents who long for a bank to return to Bordon should cheque out a drop-in event in the town centre this Friday.
There should be good numbers in The Shed as more details about the Bordon Banking Hub will be revealed.
Cash Access UK are holding an information drop-in from 2 to 4pm as they get close to confirming the location of the Bordon hub, which will also be Hampshire’s first.
Bordon is the largest community in East Hampshire not to have a bank with the Camp Road branch of Lloyds closing in 2017.
The hub will consist of a counter service, operated by Post Office employees, where customers of any bank can withdraw and deposit cash, make bill payments and carry out transactions.
Banks will operate on a rotating basis while the facility will also include private spaces where customers can speak to bankers about more complicated or specialist financial issues.
