Here is a contender for the title of the first baby born in Alton in 2025.

Jax Thomas Bailey came into the world at 3.39am on January 1, briefly holding the honour of being the youngest person on the planet in the process.

Nana Paula Kelly, who was present at the birth, said: “Jax’s safe arrival is the best start to a new year ever.”

Dad Darren added: “I’m so in love with him. He’s just incredible.”
