People living with Parkinson’s in Hampshire and the surrounding areas are invited to try a new local exercise class.
PD Challenge launches on September 17 at Alton Sports Centre, organised by specialist neurological physiotherapists from Hobbs Rehabilitation South East.
The sessions are part of an eight-week course which takes place from 1.30pm to 2.30pm every Tuesday.
Supported by Parkinson’s UK and Everyone Active, the sessions are designed to challenge and improve balance, strength and coordination, among other common issues in the disease.
The class is also designed to give more people living with the condition an opportunity to get active in a fun and social way. Prospective participants will need to complete a screening assessment which costs £10 per person.
The screening helps the instructors to better understand the needs of each participant and to identify if the session is right for them. Once completed, each session costs £10.
