FOR MANY, friends and family have felt somewhat out of reach in 2020. In order to bring some Christmas spirit and connection back into our lives, this week’s edition of the Herald carries a free Christmas Card and envelope from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA), for all of our readers.

With potentially fewer opportunities for festive feasts and meet-ups under the mistletoe, Christmas may be a little different this year. Although we may be unable to see those closest to us to share our Christmas cheer, sending a text or email message won’t cut it either! Perhaps it’s time to consider going back to the traditional method and connect with a personal, handwritten Christmas Card.

From online classes, to virtual meet ups, as a nation we have been on a mission to combat the loneliness that has afflicted many in 2020. As disabled people the MFPA appreciate more than most how difficult lockdown has been and how important keeping socially connected can be to mental wellbeing.

For over 60 years, the MFPA has reproduced the original artworks of its disabled artists into Christmas Cards, Calendars and other seasonal products, which are available to purchase online. Their beautiful designs range from frosty winter scenes to festive Christmas trees, and all are painted by the artists, by uniquely using a paint brush with their mouth or foot.

The MFPA provides its talented artists with the opportunity to become financially independent and to achieve self-fulfilment by turning their artistic skill into a career. Choosing to purchase MFPA cards makes a real difference to the lives of its artists.

This year has been difficult for everyone and now more than ever, the MFPA is determined to help bring people closer together this Christmas.

The MFPA are taking orders for greetings cards right up to Thursday, December 17. Be sure to purchase yours in time to send to those you care about this Christmas, or to view other seasonal products online at www.mfpa.uk
