Access to all of the gardens taking part in Farringdon Open Gardens has been maintained despite the 15-week closure of the A32 which is planned to begin on Monday.

Farringdon Horticultural Society is organising the event, which will take place from 2pm to 5.30pm on July 3 and will raise money for the society and Alton Community Care.

There will be nine gardens open, one of which opens regularly for the National Garden Scheme, of a variety of sizes and styles. Teas and plants will be on sale.

Entry programmes will be available from a gazebo on the green by the church in Upper Farringdon. Admission to all the gardens costs £5 (under-16s free).

Dogs are welcome and most gardens are accessible to wheelchairs. Visitors can picnic in the village community garden.
