A fundraising campaign is underway to replace Nigel Marr’s memorial bench at the recreation ground in Liphook. 

The community were shocked at the senseless destruction of the bench of a much-loved community figure. 

The memorial bench in Liphook recreation ground was destroyed by vandals on July 31 evening.

Parish councillor Bill Mouland said: “Nigel enriched the lives of thousands, both young and old, through his passionate leadership of LUFC over several years. He held many posts, culminating in him becoming chairman, and put as much energy and passion into each role as he could muster despite his illness.

“Please help us support the effort for fundraising.”
