Alton Community Share will host its last Saturday Morning Takeaway at the St Lawrence Parish Centre on December 14 from 10am until midday.
After nearly five years of sharing hundreds of jigsaw puzzles, books, toys and games with the community, Alton Community Share is closing because leaders Martin and Helen are stepping down.
A spokesperson said: “To thank our wonderful community of borrowers, volunteers and supporters, it’s only right that we give back, so we’re giving all our stock away for free.
“Our mission has always been to banish boredom, help families save money by not needing to buy new toys, and reduce waste by re-using things which still have plenty of life left in them.
“In the lead-up to Christmas, we’re offering a helping hand to local families, grandparents and community groups.”
Representatives of schools, nurseries, after-school clubs and children’s charities are also welcome to take a share for their organisations. There will be free tea, coffee, biscuits and mince pies.
