Multiple award-winning soprano Kristy Swift will sing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater to raise money for the Alton Arts Festival at the Church of St Lawrence in Alton on March 23 at 8pm.

Kristy had been touring the world and singing in top opera houses alongside the likes of Andre Rieu when she received a breast cancer diagnosis.

She was forced into a rethink on what was important to her, but thankfully for her followers she is back doing what she truly loves - and sharing her incredible talents as part of fundraising for the Alton Arts Festival.

A spokesperson for the festival organisers said: “We are so lucky to have her involved and she is sounding more amazing than ever.”

Kristy joins the festival’s classical music programme lead, Louisa Hunter-Bradley, and organist Robin Walker, for Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, a sublime concert of Easter music.

The spokesperson added: “Please come and support this concert as every ticket sold will make a huge difference for the festival. And as Kristy is currently on the lookout for a house in Alton, it might just provide her one more reason to move to this fabulous community.”
