The Friends of Royal Surrey Charity is inviting the local community to A Positive Note, an evening of lively musical performances at Haslemere Hall on Saturday, February 25 at 7.30pm, to help raise funds for a new Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre in Guildford.

Featuring music from the charts and the musical stage, Royal Surrey Choir, Midhurst Community Choir, Haslemere Rock Choir and Haslemere Players will be performing, led by musical director Jake Hellier, who works for NHS England.

All money raised from the evening will go towards the campaign which will see Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust build upon its world class services in the fields of traditional and robotic surgery, enhance its theatre capacity and improve patient experiences and outcomes throughout Surrey and the South East. 

The new centre will mean 7,000 more patients, including those with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis, will receive treatment every year, as well as dramatically improving patient experience.

Judith Storey, a former mayoress of Waverley from Farnham, is organising the event on behalf of the Friends of Royal Surrey Charity’s Cancer and Surgical Innovation Campaign.

She said: “Thank you to the wonderful local choirs who are supporting this event, which is set to be a fantastic evening filled with lots of firm favourites.

“We hope you’ll come along to show your support and help raise vital funds for this project, which will benefit thousands of people across the South East.”
