Children and their grown-ups will enjoy the puppetry-packed story of The Singing Mermaid, which comes to the Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14.
Based on the children’s story by Julia Donaldson, and illustrated by Lydia Monks, the show tells the story of a singing mermaid who is tempted to join a travelling circus with the promise of a life of excitement, plus her very own swimming pool.
But, while everyone loves her singing, she has been tricked by the dastardly circus master, leaving audiences wondering if she will escape – and who will help her?
The adaptation is by Little Angel Theatre and Royal & Derngate, Northampton. It is presented by Watershed Productions and is performed by a talented cast of three performers, with music and songs by Barb Jungr.
