Sleek sports cars, limousines and even a few tractors drew up at Audrey’s Wood Hotel in Basingstoke on a balmy July evening as the Year 11 students from Eggar’s School went to the prom.

The prom marked not just the end of the students’ GCSE exams but of their five years together at the school, and they marked this with dinner and dancing until late into the evening.

Leela Bennett, a representative of the school, said the prom reflected the sense of community among students and staff.

She said: “Throughout their time at the school, Eggar’s has been a strong support for its students, providing guidance, encouragement, and a nurturing environment.

“As the night drew to a close, it was clear the prom was a resounding success, marking the end of an era and the beginning of new adventures for the students of Eggar’s School.

“We wish them all the very best!”
