LORD Wandsworth College pupils have celebrated superb GCSE exam success, with almost 60 per cent of grades awarded at 9-7, 90 per cent of all grades at 9-5, and a 97 per cent pass rate, recognising the incredible effort from pupils within the most significant paradigm shift in education in decades.
Amid a current landscape of complexity and challenge, huge congratulations, in particular, go to Sofia S and Kian P (10 grade 9s), James H, Sophie G, Niamh F (9 grade 9s) and Anastasia B, Max J, Scarlett M, Oliver S, Georgie R (8 grade 9s). Furthermore, 21 per cent of the pupils achieved straight 9 to 7 grades.
Headmaster, Adam Williams, said: “Our current crop of GCSE pupils have worked so impressively in this new educational landscape, receiving a full two years of high-quality teaching – in fact our pupils have thrived with the blended approach, learning skills that will enable them to flourish at A-level and beyond in to the world of employment.
“Their teachers have been quite brilliant in their commitment to online learning, whether it be teaching, revision or our exciting pre-Sixth Form programme.
“We wish our pupils all the very best as they take on the challenges of A-levels and (as importantly) immerse themselves in the worlds of sport, music, drama and adventurous training in our thriving and popular Sixth Form – a final two years full of individual investment and opportunity.
“Life is not about league tables, rather an ability to be curious, creative, tech savvy, collaborative and emotionally intelligent – skills that have been needed in large doses over this challenging time.”
