Pupils and staff at Ditcham Park School celebrated the reveal of the long-awaited GCSE results.

The School was delighted that 40 per cent of all results were graded 9-7 (A*- A) which is well above the national average and a significant improvement on last year. Likewise, 97 per cent of all results were graded 9-4 (A*- C).

Headmaster Graham Spawforth said: “In the context of a return to pre-pandemic grading I congratulate all our students for achieving an impressive set of results which is a credit to their hard work and to their dedicated teachers.

“Among many strong individual performances, particular congratulations go to Tea and Finlay. Who achieved 7 and 8 grade 9s respectively placing them among some of the highest achieving students in the country. Finlay moves on to the Sixth Form at Canford School where he has been awarded an academic scholarship.

“Pleasingly, most pupils have achieved grades well above their expected levels of attainment. On average each student achieved 6 grades higher than expected. Four students each achieved over 20 grades higher than expected.

“I know all our staff and Governors join me in wishing our students every success in their future studies and careers.”

Ditcham Park is an independent co-educational day school for pupils from age 2 to 16 years, in the South Downs National Park just outside Petersfield. Pupils benefit from relatively small class sizes, a wide curriculum and a focus on STEAM, creativity and sport.

The School’s next open morning is Saturday, September 28.
