Galaxies will collide next weekend when fundraisers take the fight against dementia to Alton Sports Centre.

A Combatathon in aid of Dementia UK will begin at 9am next Sunday (June 2) with 50-minute classes starting every hour until midday.

Classes cost £5 per person while entrants are encouraged to wear 80s or neon attire.

Fans of Star Wars would be darth to miss the event with chances to have photos taken with stormtroopers and cosplay characters from the franchise, in return for donations.

Body Combat is a high-energy, non-contact martial arts-inspired workout which helps to develop coordination and release stress.

The full body workout is designed to target every muscle group through a combination of punching, kicking, blocking and striking.

There will also be a raffle featuring prizes from the likes of Heavens Kitchen and Squires Garden Centre, to book a class or for more details call 01420 540040 or visit the website.
