TWO COMMUNITY hedge planting afternoons created around 80 yards of mixed native hedge at Binsted Parish Council’s Blacknest Fields.

The hedge, funded by the Tree Council’s Branching Out Fund, will help transform the fields into a nature site and community green space.

The events were run by the Binsted Eco Network, Binsted Parish Council and Binsted’s tree warden. Volunteers included pre-school and home schooled children, and pupils from Binsted Primary School, Rowledge Primary School and Lord Wandsworth College.

The eco network’s ‘Green Drinks’ night is at the Binsted Inn on March 10 at 7.30pm.
